This is an old family recipe from Mrs. Crazy’s side of the family. Her grandparents still make it on their 50-year-old griddle they had when they were first married as college students!
Mix together in a bowl:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 T white sugar
- 1 t baking powder
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1/4 t salt
At this point, you can freeze the dry ingredients in a Ziploc bag. On the outside of the bag, label it and write the needed wet ingredients.
In a separate, smaller bowl mix the following ingredients:
- 1 c buttermilk (or 1 c milk with 1 T white vinegar, let stand for 5 minutes)
- 1 T oil
- 1 egg
Then mix the dry and wet ingredients all together. You can use this for pancakes or waffles.
